Campaign for Battle of Britain hero statue gathers pace

The campaign for a permanent monument to the man who commanded RAF 11 Group Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain, Sir Keith Park, reached City Hall today as a mock-up of the proposed statue was unveiled. The event was attended by Terry Smith, the campaign chief executive and actor Edward Fox along with many others.

New Typhoons delivered on time and on budget

The Royal Air Force took delivery of the first batch of the 91 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft ordered as Tranche 2 of the program at their operating base, RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. The aircraft, which were ordered four years ago, have been delivered on time and on budget.

Royal Navy’s new aircraft carriers to be largest electrically-powered ships on earth

It has been announced that each of the Royal Navy’s two new aircraft carriers, due to enter service in the next decade, will be powered by two enormous gas turbines making them the largest warships in the world not to be powered by mechanical drive technology.
